  • Re: warnings going around about Brent/Ialdabaoth. Is this the same guy who was going on in the comments at SlateStarCodex a couple years ago about how he was so low status that if he asked a girl out, he'd get maced? Claimed he had no friends/was Forever Alone?

    I don’t know who specifically you ran into in the SSC comments section, but Brent frequently talks about how he’s lonely, friendless, hated, etc., and he writes a lot of analysis of social dynamics in terms of status. One of the things he said most frequently to me when we spoke was that all men do worse things than him but only he gets criticized for them because of dynamics that make him a designated punching bag. (I have never heard accusations against anyone else in the community like the ones leveled against Brent.)

    I remember that commenter and yes that was him.
